CRICKET BOYS – SANDHURST DIVISION RESULTS

Congratulations to the BSSC boys cricket team on winning this week’s Loddon Mallee Region final. In the morning game, they defeated Maryborough Education Centre very easily. They contained MEC to just 39 runs from their 13 overs, with Kayde Howard taking three wickets, and Kyal Rasmussen two. In reply, Zane Keighran (41) and Jack Bourke (14) passed the total in just five overs.

In the final game against Mildura Senior College, BSSC posted a score of 132 from their 13 overs, with good contributions from Jack Bourke (43), Ryan O’Keefe (39), and James Schischka (30). MSC were always behind the run rate and finished with 92. All bowlers bowled well, with Kayde Howard taking two wickets. The boys now progress to the SSV State ¼ Finals on Monday 26 March at Strathfieldsaye.

Well done to the team: Jack Bourke, Nahid Hossain, Kayde Howard, Zane Keighran, Mitch Kemp, Jarrett Miles, Ryan O’Keefe, Kyal Rasmussen, Jed Rodda, James Schischka, Justin Slater, and coach Duane Anderson.

CRICKET GIRLS – SANDHURST DIVISION RESULTS

Our girls cricket team were runners-up in this week’s Loddon Mallee Region finals. They were defeated by a very talented team from Mildura Senior College. The BSSC girls batted first and made 68 from their 20 overs. Erin Stewart top scored with 32 (retired), with Alice Layton (9) and Makayle Dole (8) also making valuable contributions. Unfortunately the Mildura batting line-up was too strong and they made 153. Great effort from our team: Sam Reaper, Mia Ward, Shelby Knoll, Makayle Dole, Erin Stewart, Bec Conway, Alice Layton, Skye Runnalls, Georgia Lowther, Kiara Verbeek, Maddy Kelly, and coach Mark Fox.
