Lawn Bowls – SSV State finals
Congratulations to the BSSC lawn bowls team on finishing runners-up in the SSV State Lawn Bowls finals. This competition brings together the winners of the eight regions across Victoria, so to finish second in the State is a huge achievement. Our team of Dallan Klemke, Travis Berry, and Jack Lake bowled extremely well all day and only narrowly missed out on taking home the title. They won two of their three round-robin games and finished second in their pool to qualify for the semi-finals. They defeated Glen Eira College 11-9 in the semi-final and were then matched up against Bacchus Marsh College in the final, the team which had earlier defeated BSSC in the round-robin. The BSSC boys started well, leading 5-0 after two ends, but Bacchus Marsh gradually worked their way back into the match to win a closely fought contest 11-7. Well done to the BSSC boys.
Athletics – Sandhurst division
Our BSSC athletics team had a very successful day at the Sandhurst Division athletics carnival on Thursday, with 14 of our 18 athletes achieving at least one first placing in their events.
