VOLLEYBALL – LODDON MALLEE REGION FINALS
The BSSC girls and boys volleyball teams have progressed to the SSV State Finals after defeating Mildura Senior College in yesterday’s Loddon Mallee Region finals.
In the girls match, the first set was extremely close but with the scores locked at 18-18, our girls played a couple of quality points to take out the first set 20-18. They were much more dominant in the second set and eventually took out the match 20-18, 20-8. Well done to team members Luella Ansted, Susie Godfrey, McKinley Grills-Marsili, Tayla Matotek, Ellex Skinner, Kilby Todd, Bree Tranter, Olivia Walklate, and coach, Julie Clyne.
The boys had a slightly easier path through to the state finals. They were in control for the duration of their match, and won in straight sets, 20-12, 20-8. Congratulations to team members Bryce Guley, Bailey Keck, Will Mandersloot, Brodie Poole, Lewis Roberts, Boyd Young, and coach, Matt Poulter.
SSV State finals take place on Friday 24 May. Best of luck to both teams.
AFL PREMIER LEAGUE
A disappointing outcome to the first round of AFL Premier League, with our opponents from Warrnambool College forfeiting the match. The BSSC Lions will next take on Catherine McCauley College at the QEO on Wednesday 22 May, with the game commencing at 12:30pm.
TRIATHLON – SCHOOL SPORT AUSTRALIA CHAMPIONSHIP
Kobe Henderson has just returned from the Sunshine Coast after representing School Sport Victoria (SSV) at the School Sport Australia 13-19 Years Triathlon Championship. It was a fantastic achievement to be one of only four boys selected to represent the state. Kobe admitted to not having his best race, but still finished 23rd in the field of competitors representing all states.
