TENNIS – SANDHURST DIVISION
Mixed results for our tennis teams at this week’s Sandhurst Division competition.
The girls tennis team had a successful day and has qualified for the Loddon Mallee Region finals. In the only match played for the day, our girls defeated Marist College, winning 3 of their 4 singles matches, and both doubles. They now head off to Mildura for the LMR finals on 6 May. Well done to team members Katie McKellar, Nicole Ferreira, Tatum Howlett, Tanika Kelly, and Miranda Johnson-Jones.
The boys made it through to the final of the Sandhurst Division competition, but could not overcome Catherine McAuley College. They easily won their first two matches against Castlemaine SC and Marist College without dropping a set. In the final, the two doubles matches were split, but CMC proved too strong in the singles matches. There was some high quality tennis played from both teams in the final. Great effort from team members Kealy Osewald, Kyle Johnston, Taine Lang, and Heath Lock.
WATERSKIING – AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL BAREFOOT CHAMPIONSHIPS
Chelsea Hall has returned from Mulwala after competing in last week’s Australian Barefoot Waterski National Championships. It was a difficult week for Chelsea after sustaining a calf injury prior to the championships. She was still able to qualify for the finals, and placed second in the slalom (including a new PB) and third in the tricks to finish third overall.
