There was a great buzz of excitement in U2 today as the 2021 Student Leadership Team gathered for their annual training day.
It was a chance for this year’s team of more than 30 students to get to know one another, but also get down to the serious business of forming sub-committees and strategizing for the year ahead. This year’s areas of focus will be Student Activities, Safety & Wellbeing, Communications/Student Voice, Events and Student Life.
Guest speaker for the day was Laine Withers, Youth Project Officer from @ymcabendigoyouth, who spoke about the purpose of leadership and finding the self-confidence to lead.
The day also included plenty of opportunity for brainstorming and a teamwork exercise that involved building towers from spaghetti and marshmallows!
There was great support from everyone in the room when the results of the SLT election were announced at the end of the day.
