FOR STUDENTS STUDYING A UNIT 3/4 VCE SUBJECT, SENIOR VCAL AND NETSCHOOL LEARNERS.

Dear Students and Parents/Carers

This morning the Premier announced that health restrictions will ease for most of regional Victoria  and students in Prep to Grade 2 and Year 12 VCE and Senior VCAL students are able to return to school commencing on Friday. This includes students in Year 11 who are doing a Unit 3/4 VCE subject. NETschool learners will also return to face-to-face learning on Friday.

  • Face to face classes will commence as per the normal BBSC timetable at 9.00am on Friday for Unit 3/4 VCE and Senior VCAL students.
  • Year 11 students doing a Year 12 subject are expected to come into the college to attend these classes face to face. Their other Year 11 classes will continue to be delivered remotely. These students are able to remain at the college for their remote Unit 2 VCE classes. There are ample study spaces available including the Library. Any of these students who live nearby and choose to work from home for part of the day may do so but they should not miss any of their Year 11 classes due to moving to and from the college.

These arrangements across regional Victoria are based on health advice which recognises that there is no community transmission of COVID-19 in places like Bendigo. It is important, however, that students take appropriate precautions and follow health advice which includes wearing a mask properly both indoors and outdoors.
The college will not be providing remote learning for Year 12 classes once we resume face to face on Friday because this is simply unmanageable for teachers. For similar reasons, Year 11 students who are onsite will be learning remotely rather than attending their normal classes.

On a further matter, I understand some students and families who are trying to make vaccination bookings under the ‘vaccination blitz’ are having difficulty in making a direct booking through the hotline number 1800 434 144. Please see the link below which will allow you to make a direct booking through Bendigo Health and select ‘Year 12 student’ under point 5 ‘Classification’. You will then be provided with access to a booking page where you can select a date and time. Please remember that this priority booking applies only to Year 12 students and Year 11’s doing a Unit 3/4 VCE subject.
Register your interest to get vaccinated

We look forward to seeing students back on site Friday.

Yours faithfully
