The Queen’s Baton Relay—calling the Commonwealth’s athletes to come together in peaceful and friendly competition—will pass through Bendigo on Wednesday 14 February.
Due to road closures from 6am until around 10.30am, BSSC students and their families are advised that classes will not commence until 11am that day.
For those students arriving on country buses, or those wishing to use the time to study, the library will be staffed and available for private study between 9 and 11am.
The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Queen’s Baton Relay is the longest and most accessible in history, travelling through the entire Commonwealth for 388 days and 230,000 kilometres. And to add to the excitement, BSSC teacher, Laurie Preston, will be part of the action! Laurie will carry the baton across the intersection of McCrae and Nolan streets during one of the final sections of its Bendigo route which ends near Lake Weeroona.
Don’t miss this important event.
