Now in its 18th year, the Principal for a Day program provides leaders from other sectors the opportunity to shadow a school principal for the day to gain insights into their crucial and challenging role.
Yesterday, BSSC Principal Dale Pearce was joined for the day by Bendigo Health’s executive director of integrated care services Liz Hamilton. It was a chance for the two leaders to trade insights and share ideas for how the two organisations could join forces, given the number of BSSC students in health-related pathways.
“Bendigo Health is just over the road from the college, Ms Hamilton said, “so we have been discussing how maybe we could work together.”
Mr Pearce said he and other principals valued the program in part because of the opportunities they brought for reciprocal visits.
“There’s always some opportunity for follow-up,” he said.
