How good is it to be in a place where freshly-made, delicious and nutritious food is on offer?

On Thursday this week, VET Hospitality students served up Thai pumpkin or creamy chicken soup with a freshly baked herb and cheese bread roll—all for just five bucks!

“Any money raised goes back into the hospitality program,” explained Cassandra Orde.

Despite their now-proven capabilities with soups and breadmaking, students in the course have different aspirations.

Emma Davis said that she wants to do event management, “and this subject lets me see what goes on behind the scenes.”

Kyra Paxton said she mostly liked cooking desserts, “but this is fun too,” she added. “What I want to do in future is get an apprenticeship with Country Cakes.”

We look forward to seeing what will be next on the menu.
