BSSC is calling for applications for some of the prestigious Year 11 and 12 awards presented at the Awards Ceremony on Wednesday 14 December. Awards are provided  for a range of achievements and effort. Most awards carry a monetary prize, an inscribed medallion and a certificate.

Students are encouraged to self-nominate for more than one award and there are awards for both Year 11 and Year 12 students.

Please check the nomination forms for your eligibility.  Nomination forms can be found on the landing page of Compass.

Completed nominations are to be handed into the General Office by Friday 14 October.

  1. Special Awards
  • Student of the Year: Awarded to the student who has made the most outstanding contribution to the life of the college. (academic achievement, extracurricular and leadership contributions)
  • Miss Florence Anderson Memorial Award: Awarded to the student who has made a highly significant contribution to the life of the college.
  • Kathryn Lake Memorial Award: Awarded to the student who has achieved both academic and sporting excellence, and who has been actively involved in a range of college activities.
  1. Taylor Family VCE and VET Awards
    This award is for an outstanding Year 11 and Year 12 VCE applicant and an outstanding Year 11 and Year 12 VET student who has made a consistent effort to achieve their best, made a significant contribution to the College and resides in semi-rural/rural location. Each Taylor Family Award is valued at $500.
  2. La Trobe University Infinity Awards
    Will be awarded to five Year 11 students who have demonstrated academic excellence in their results and excellence in their participation in the wider community. Each student will need to demonstrate a strong sense of social and environmental responsibility through the extracurricular activities they have undertaken. The environmental responsibility can reflect the social or physical environment. Each of the awards is valued at $400.
  3. Fernwood Fitness Scholarship

There are two scholarships for current Year 11 female students who actively participate in a sporting or community group and would benefit from regularly attending Fernwood Fitness gym. These scholarships are valued at approximately $1200 each for a full 12-month membership in 2017 at Fernwood Fitness located in Hargreaves Street Bendigo.
