What happens when the freezer goes off in the VCAL kitchen?? You get inventive—that’s what!

Today, EAL VCAL students had an impromptu MasterChef-style invention test, creating six different dishes from the assortment of ingredients that were slowly defrosting.

Chicken and pumpkin pie, mini egg and bacon quiches, pumpkin and bacon quiche, blueberry and chocolate muffins, freshly baked pizza, burgers and sausages were all on the menu, with students cooperating beautifully… even when blown fuses caused the pie makers and electric frying pans to shut down.

Despite the challenges, the students and staff enjoyed an amazing lunch… with zero food wasted.
