VET Community Services students gathered at the Language Centre on Thursday morning to hang two mosaics they created, one representing the Aboriginal flag and the other a symbol of the Torres Strait Islands.
BSSC’s Indigenous Programs Coordinator, Sally Fleming, told students the mosaics are an important cultural signpost.
“We hear the acknowledgement of the traditional owners at events throughout the year, but these mosaics you’ve created are visible signs that can remind us every day, and connect us to a culture that has nurtured this country for tens of thousands of years.”
