Are you interested in world politics? Do you love debating issues and following leadership opportunities? If the answer is YES, this is for you…

The United Nations Association of Australia, along with the Department of Politics and Philosophy at La Trobe University, invite BSSC students to participate in the Model United Nations Conference at La Trobe University Bendigo on Friday 12 May 2017.

The full-day conference simulates a session of the United Nations General Assembly through role play and debate. Participating students step into the shoes of country ambassadors and draw on negotiation and diplomacy skills to ensure their views are heard.

You’ll learn about UN bodies and member states, and the importance of dialogue, diplomacy, negotiation and building consensus – skills that are fundamental to the development of global citizens, future leaders, or a career in international relations.

This year’s topic is ‘Combating Climate Change: Committing to Global Action’.
