This morning Year 11 and 12 Art students enjoyed a visual feast, and the opportunity to workshop their own sketches, with the fabulously talented Kenny Pittock.

The artist’s visit is part of a wider program coordinated with the Bendigo Art Gallery to ‘share the love’ more widely and give students the chance to interact with visiting creatives.

Kenny’s work takes many forms—including inflated installations—but the main focus today centred on some of his ceramic work.

One project involves recreating shopping lists—from actual lists Kenny found in supermarkets—into visually accurate ceramic ‘hard copies’ in clay.

These are such compelling pieces the NGV has purchased a collection.

By the end of the workshop, students were comfortable sharing their drawings with the group and clearly enjoyed a positive connection with Kenny.
