From Friday 16 Feb this year, you will see China, Malaysia, Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Singapore and many other Asian countries celebrate Lunar New Year as national holidays. The festival traditionally begins on the first day of the first month in the lunar calendar and ends with Lantern Festival which is on the 15th day.

To celebrate this important festival for students from these cultural backgrounds, our college will have an event in the Language Centre during lunchtime on Thursday 15 February—the Lunar New Year Eve.

Students and staff are invited to join the international students and Chinese staff in making and tasting the delicious dumplings, writing your lucky couplets, taking the language challenges and enjoying traditional music.

It’ll be a great celebration, so see you there!
