Each year 16 lucky BSSC students are sponsored to attend a two-day conference that explores inspiring ideas and opinions from distinguished community leaders.

This year’s presenters include:

Actor, activist, mentor Uncle Jack Charles  

Senator, the Honourable Penny Wong

Doctor, author, media commentator, Helena Popovic    

Social psychologist and author Hugh Mackay AO

Motivational speaker and author Turia Pitt


When: Monday and Tuesday 17th – 18th May

Students must commit to the full two days to be eligible to attend. Please consider the SACs you will have in this week prior to making a commitment

Where: The conference will be held at the Moonee Valley Racing Club in Melbourne. Accommodation will be at the Alexander Motor Inn, Essendon.

Cost: You will need to pay $120.00 for accommodation/breakfast, transport and lunches Students will need own funds for dinner on the 17th. You will be sponsored by Our Community for entry.


If you would like to attend, you will need to pay $120 to the Finance office to secure your place. Students eligible for the Camps, Sports and Excursion funding may use these funds for this excursion.
