Our Specialist Sports students gained some wonderful insights into the world of the media this afternoon in a one-hour workshop with James Freemantle of REDgum Communications.
James leads a team of diversely talented experts in media, education and organisational psychology and has worked with some of the biggest names in sport, including Essendon Premiership player Matthew Lloyd.
An expert in personal branding, James talked about the choices young sports people can make to be the very best version of themselves. His presentation covered everything from how to use our voice to best effect, body language and facial expressions, telling stories that create an impact, and being aware of our greatest attributes.
Our students came away with some incredibly valuable knowledge about the three Vs—the visual, the vocal, and the verbal—when it comes to communicating with media.
