A group of 42 students, staff and parents from Haimen Dongshou Middle School visited BSSC on Thursday as part of their cultural exchange to Australia. The students have been attending classes at Bendigo South East College and enjoying some of the region’s attractions such as the Central Deborah Mine and Chinese Museum.

Haimen Dongshou Middle School has both day and boarding students and a total population of around 3100 students. Some of the points of difference from other schools in their district are their emphasis on small classes, individualised learning plans, teaching foreign languages and fine arts.

The college is also hosting a group of 17 students and staff from another of its long-term sister schools, Nanning Yucai Experimental School.

They arrived on Wednesday and will be here until the 26th July. They’ll take part in a variety of activities during their week with us, including classroom integration. If you do see them on campus or in your class, please make them feel welcome.
