BSSC is in the process of finalising its upgraded CCTV system as advised in March this year and expect this to be operational by next week.
The new system includes the installation of 20 cameras in various external and traffic areas around the college and complies with Department of Education requirements.
Stored footage will be only be accessible by nominated members of the leadership and IT teams. It will be provided to Bendigo Police on request, in the event that this needs to be accessed to follow up on vandalism or other illegal activity on the college grounds.
While we hope the cameras will serve as a deterrent to anyone who might have ill-intentions, it is still extremely important that students and staff take personal responsibility for the security of all belongings at all times and do not leave valuables unattended.
