On Thursday, EAL VCAL students had enormous fun at their end-of-year celebrations. The morning saw pizzas being created and cooked in the VCAL pizza oven. With full bellies, students headed across to Bendigo Bowls for some serious barefoot fun under sunny skies.

Students didn’t take long to hone their skills on the green. Karen student, Yogi, sent down some stunningly well-directed balls. “The best part is coming together to play with friends, with the whole class, with teachers,” he said.

The students were assisted by two experienced bowlers from the club who donated their time to coach the newcomers. Ta Dah, who managed a brilliant knock-out for her team, said the best part of the day was, “playing the game with friends.”

Ei Pyu, who, like most others, had never played bowls before, really enjoyed herself.

“It’s a good game; lots of fun,” she said.

Multicultural Education Aide, Plokaw, who was a definite asset to his team, admitted that he had lots of fun too. “It’s great to see the students laughing and enjoying themselves,” he said.
