BSSC is gearing up for a fabulous start to the 2018 school year.

It all begins with Blast Off interviews on Thursday 1 February from 1.30 to 7pm, and Friday 2 February from 9am to 3pm. If you haven’t arranged your interview yet, log on to Compass as soon as possible to book your time.

This interview with your Advisor provides an opportunity to discuss and set goals to ensure a positive start to the year. It’s also a chance to get to know your Advisor—a person who will play such an important role for you throughout the year. Blast Off interviews lay the foundation for a supportive relationship that many students find invaluable.

Please arrive for your Blast Off interview 20 minutes early and go to the foyer of the Ulumbarra Theatre to collect an information pack and have your photograph taken. Once this is completed, you will be directed to the meeting with your Advisor.

The following Monday morning, February 5, is when your BSSC experience begins in earnest—kicking off with House Assemblies in the Ulumbarra Theatre—first King and Mackay Houses, then Freeman and Wilcock Houses. Monday lunchtime is a chance to explore what else is on offer—from Student Council to sports; from cultural exchange programs and hosting international students to being a Student Ambassador; from adventurous trips to community participation—and so much more!

Wednesday afternoon will see the college grounds converted to a mini amusement park as the fantastic activities from Bendigo’s Zone are set up for some serious fun. On Friday there will be a free BBQ and live music in the plaza.

Blast Off week is a chance to meet your new classmates and teachers—a chance to make those friends who just might be around for the rest of your life.

Welcome everyone!
