More than 1800 Bendigo Senior Secondary College students will attend ‘Blast Off‘ week, heralding the start of the 2017 school year.

For many students it’s the beginning of their senior school journey; for others it’s the business-end of their 13 years of schooling. For all, it’s the chance for a fresh start and time to grasp the incredible educational and extra-curricular opportunities BSSC has to offer.

On Tuesday 31 January and Wednesday 1 February, students attend Blast Off interviews, connecting with their BSSC Advisor and setting up the supportive relationships and goals that ensure a positive start to the year. If you haven’t booked your interview yet, please log on to Compass as soon as possible to book a time.

Students are asked to arrive 20 minutes prior to their interview to allow time to collect an information pack from the Ulumbarra foyer and have their college photo taken.

Thursday 2 February is the first day of formal classes and will kick off with House Assemblies and Advisor time for all students. Over the ensuing week there will be a range of activities starting with a welcome barbecue lunch on Monday 6 February and continuing on Wednesday and Friday with interactive games from The Zone, including archery, a giant slide, inflatable meltdown and other activities with spot prizes.

The Blast Off program and interviews is the beginning of a partnership between parents, students and teachers to fulfil the college’s purpose to “empower learners for individual, community and global leadership”.
