Health & PE helps students understand the importance of our environment and the role of physical activity and a healthy lifestyle in promoting the health and wellbeing of individuals and groups.

Physical Education

Introduces students to an understanding of physical activity and sedentary behaviour from a participatory and physiological perspective. Students study physical fitness and analyse data in relation to national guidelines and investigate factors that influence performance and involvement in physical activity. Students also study the relationship between body systems and physical activity.

Health and Human Development

Provide students with a rich understanding of health issues within Australia and across the world.

Outdoor and Environmental Studies

Offers students an opportunity to study the impact of humans and natural environments. Students experience a range of outdoor activities that are used to apply theory to practice.

VET COMMUNITY SERVICES

Suited to students who are interested in working with people, are good listeners and communicators, fully respect other people’s privacy, are willing to interact with people, are good at building relationships with people and are willing to try different ways of engaging with people. This program offers students the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills for the community services sector and explores specific contexts of work, for example Aged Care, Child Care and Education. Skills will developed in communication, working with diversity, workplace health and safety, administration support and responding to clients.

VET ALLIED HEALTH

The program is suited to students who are interested in working in the Health Care Industry or pursuing further studies in this area. Through this program students gain valuable knowledge, skills and contextual understanding of the medical industry. Supervised workplace visits and practical sessions are an important part of the program, in addition to simulated learning, to provide opportunities to participate in a range of immersion activities aimed at giving wide exposure to a variety of areas in the health care industry. This program is an academic course of study.
