Six students from BSSC took part in the Trade Training Centre Agricultural Show at La Valla on Thursday as part of their Cert II Agriculture studies.
Each week, 40 students from BSSC travel to La Valla to study for their Cert II in either Agriculture or Animal Studies. The Agriculture show is not only part of the students’ assessment, but also showcases the incredible agriculture and horticulture facilities that include lecture rooms, an indoor show ring, shearing sheds, nine grazing paddocks, cattle wash bays, holding pens, a climate-controlled green house, vegetable beds and orchard, and a fully-equipped laboratory.
Students showed Dexter Cattle, Polwarth Sheep and Alpacas, with Year 12 student Jack Vinnicombe accepting the blue ribbon for Champion Ewe.
It was great to see the skill and enthusiasm all our students displayed, preparing their animals, and presenting them in the show ring.
