AFL Premier League v Box Hill SC
This year’s AFL Premier League competition kicked off on Wednesday with the BSSC Lions taking on Box Hill Senior Secondary College in Melbourne. In a closely-fought contest, Box Hill prevailed by just two points.
BSSC dominated possession in the first quarter, but inaccurate kicking resulted in only two goals being kicked from eight scoring shots. A quarter-time lead of five points turned into a three-point half-time deficit after Box Hill kicked four goals in the second quarter. After an even third quarter, BSSC went into the final quarter trailing by a single point. Box Hill were able to establish a nine-point lead midway through the final term, but our boys fought back well and very nearly stole the game in the final minutes.
