HOCKEY – SSV STATE FINALS
The BSSC girls hockey team competed in the SSV State Finals in Melbourne this week. The team performed exceptionally well, with all three of their round-robin games finishing in a draw. They had 0–0 draws with Balwyn HS and Strathmore SC, and a 2–2 draw against University HS. Their best effort came in the game against Balwyn, where they kept the eventual finalists scoreless. Well done to team members Abbey Beecham, Kayleigh Bennett, April Buccheri, Maddi Dobeli, Hayley Evans, Jorja Friswell, Grace Friswell, Zoe Green, Natalie Keating, Lauren Nyberg, Sarah Roulston, Grace White, and coach Jorgie Wright.
HOCKEY – COUNTRY AUSTRALIA U/21 TEAM
As a result of her recent performances representing Vic Country at the Australian Country Women’s Hockey Championships, Jorgie Wright has been selected in the Country Australia Hockey U/21 team to compete in Borneo later in the year. Congratulations Jorgie.
CANOEING – BENDIGO ACADEMY OF SPORT
Are you interested in being part of the Bendigo Academy of Sport canoeing program in 2019 – 2020? The program offers elite weekly training, coaches, and athlete education components. There is also a strength and conditioning program at La Trobe University, and camps at Nagambie and Jan Juc.
The program takes place from October 2019 through to May 2020 at Lake Weeroona, Bendigo. The approximate cost is $600.
Bendigo Canoe Club have a ‘Come and Try’ Day on Saturday 5 October at 1:30pm at Lake Weeroona.
