Volleyball – Sandhurst Division
BSSC’s volleyball teams have qualified for the Loddon Mallee Region finals after winning Tuesday’s games against Catherine McAuley College in the Sandhurst Division competition. The girls played very consistent volleyball to win 20 – 5, 20 – 5, 20 – 7. The boys had a much stronger attacking game than their opponents and won 20 – 10, 20 – 11, 20 – 9.
Congratulations to both teams.
Girls: Susie Godfrey, McKinley Grills-Marsili, Tayla Matotek, Ellex Skinner, Kilby Todd, Bree Tranter, Olivia Walklate, and coach Julie Clyne.
Boys: Bryce Guley, Bailey Keck, Will Mandersloot, Cress Ndikumana, Brodie Poole, Lewis Roberts, Boyd Young and coach Matt Poulter.
The LMR finals take place in Mildura on 6 May.

Rowville Invitational netball tournament
The BSSC Specialist Sport netball girls defeated some quality opposition in this week’s invitational tournament at Rowville Sports Academy. In their five games, they had three wins against Rowville Sports Academy (2) 27 – 15, Rowville Sports Academy (1) 27 – 19, and Henley Sports Academy 24 – 19. They also played out a draw against Maribyrnong Sports Academy (2), before losing their final game against Maribyrnong Sports Academy (1) 28 – 21.
Great effort from all team members – Kayla Ashcroft, Charlotte Crook, Abbey Grindal, Bree Heiden, Christijana Holmes, Abbey Hromenko, Mabel Kean, Arriah Keogh, Hayley McLeod, Tia Reaper, and Ella Wicks.
Rowville Invitational basketball tournament
The BSSC Specialist Sport boys basketball team performed extremely well in this week’s invitational tournament at Rowville Sports Academy. They had the opportunity to play against other schools with specialist basketball programs, so the level of competition was extremely high. The boys won three of their four games, defeating Rowville Sports Academy (2) 50 – 40, Henley Sports Academy 40 – 26, and Maribyrnong Sports Academy 50 – 37, before being defeated in their last game against Rowville Sports Academy (1) 35 – 41.
Well done to team members Ethan Cunningham, Kai Daniels, Jackson Hufer, Lochie Hussey, Trent Leech, Dylan McCauley, Isaac Murphy, Hayden Parrott, Nick Skinner, and Billy Smythe.

Lawn Bowls – Loddon Mallee region finals
Our BSSC lawn bowls team narrowly missed qualifying for the SSV Finals after finishing runners-up in Thursday’s Loddon Mallee Region Finals. The team of Lochy Darroch, Liam Miller, and Liam Gill had four wins, a draw, and a loss in their six round-robin matches. One of their wins was against the eventual winners, Nathalia SC. Great effort boys.

School Sport Victoria – State team trials
Each year, talented Victorian School students have the opportunity to trial for a place in the School Sport Victoria (SSV) Team Vic State team. Selected students participate in annual School Sport Australia (SSA) Championships including the Pacific School Games (PSG) held every second year. These championships offer gifted and talented students the opportunity to participate in higher levels of sporting competition against students from other Australian States and Territories.
