Year 11 and 12 BSSC students were given an insight into the ‘living on campus life’ at lunchtime today, thanks to Deakin University.

Angelica Klein-Boonschate—past BSSC student and Campus Life Coordinator at Deakin Residential Services in Geelong—spoke to the group about the benefits of res accommodation.

She is part of a team overseeing and supporting students who live on campus, and is passionate about helping them transition to the next stage of their lives in a safe and supportive environment.

“I can, hand on heart, say that at Deakin you will find a place where you belong,” assures Angelica.

The session was a wonderful chance for BSSC students to learn about the countless optional events the uni runs throughout the year and the many advantages of living on-site.

“You will meet the most extraordinary people: it’s going to be life-changing for you.”

“If I could give you any advice, it would be to open up the application and apply,” says Angelica.

“There’s a lot to gain by submitting an application, but if you miss the opportunity there’s a lot to lose.”

Applications open on the 1st of July 2025.
