Dear Parents/Carers and Students
The college has taken delivery of Rapid Antigen Test kits which will be distributed by Advisors in Blast Off interviews this week.
Each student will receive a pack of five RATs. Instructions on use are contained in the RAT pack.
Students who are not able to collect their RATs via Blast Off interviews will receive them at the Advisor meeting scheduled for this Thursday morning. Any student who does not receive their RATs via Blast Off interviews or Thursday’s Advisor meeting can collect their pack from the Student Services Centre.
Please be aware that we only have enough RATs for one pack per student at this stage. The college cannot provide additional RATs if students misplace or damage their tests.
Schools are due to receive a second allocation of RATs in two weeks and we will distribute these when they arrive.
As per earlier advice, please note:
Use of RATs is voluntary but is an important measure in helping reduce COVID transmission by picking up some cases that may otherwise go undetected.
Students are encouraged to use them twice a week at home prior to attending school. We suggest Sunday evening and then again on Wednesday evening. If a student returns a positive RAT or COVID PCR test they:
– Report this via the Department of Health system https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/rapid-antigen-tests… or via the coronavirus hotline at 1800 675 398.
– Advise the school via the Victorian Education portal https://covidtest.educationapps.vic.gov.au/s/login/… and via a phone call to the Student Absence Line (5442 7416). Please note that entering information into the portal requires a registration process and will take a little time.
– Isolate for 7 days and not attend school during that time. A Student Engagement Coordinator will provide you with advice on how to access school work during this time.
Our staff are really looking forward to seeing students in Blast Off interviews and in classes this week.
Regards
Dale Pearce
