Congratulations to Year 11 student, Qiaochu Weng, who placed third in the 2021 Victoria International Student Public Speaking Competition held on Monday 11 October.
The competition took place online this year due to COVID restrictions.
The topic was ‘Every Ending is a New Beginning’ and Qiaochu used the transition to her new life in Australia as an analogy to persuade the audience that “a new environment doesn’t guarantee a new beginning, but a transformed mindset does”.
Qiaochu was grateful for the opportunity to listen to great speeches from other candidates during the competition.
