After three wonderful days in the City of Lights, our students on the France-Germany trip have parted company to begin their individual homestay experiences. Highlights of their time in Paris included a cruise on the River Seine, a guided tour of the Eiffel Tower, a visit to the famous Louvre Museum, travelling on the Paris Metro and, of course, feasting on escargots (that’s snails, folks!)

Since then, BSSC students have settled in well at the German friendship school Nellenburg Gymnasium in Stockach, and are enjoying staying with their host families. The students celebrated the 2nd Advent at school sharing Christmas cookies and stories about past exchanges.

They explored the city of Stockach and surrounds with their host families during the weekend and on Tuesday went to the city of Konstanz and took part in a guided tour to appreciate the history of the town. They also visited the Christmas market on the shores of Lake Constance in the afternoon. Other excursion are planned for the students who are staying until mid-January.

We have also received some more great pics from our students and staff travelling in Italy. In  Verona, they visited the Christmas Markets, the House of Montague and House of Capulet from Romeo and Juliet, and the statue of Dante. In Florence, the students met Michelangelo’s David at the Accademia and climbed the 463 steps, through dark narrow tunnels, to the top of the Duomo.

No doubt some lifetime memories are being made!
