It was an extraordinary day for more than 120 Specimen Hill Primary School students who attended yesterday’s Multicultural Immersion day at BSSC.

The day began with an Acknowledgement of Country and Smoking Ceremony, before students began a series of fun and enlightening activities that introduced them to Chinese, Karen, Thai, Afghan and Indigenous cultures.

The range of activities included Indigenous dance, body painting and storytelling; traditional Karen dancing, singing and costumes; and Chinese culture such as using chopsticks, paper arts and Kung Fu.

The day concluded with students sharing what they had learnt throughout the day and included a spectacular group Kung Fu session.

Congratulations to all our Indigenous, EAL-VCAL, and Chinese International students who showed such great leadership throughout the day running the many cultural activities.
