Last weekend students form the Competition Vehicles team raced the college’s vehicles at the Bendigo Human Powered and Energy Efficient Vehicle Grand Prix.
The event was held in the Deborah Triangle and attracted may school and community teams from across the country. The circuit included the toughest hill climb of any event on the calendar and with less than favourable weather on Saturday it was a very challenging nine hours for the participants.
Congratulations to the two BSSC teams who performed exceptionally well. The Hybrid Vehicle called ‘Big Dogs Pizza’ finished 1st in the Hybrid 1 (Pedal Petrol) Category, was 6th overall and completed 246 laps. Our Human Powered Vehicle, called ‘Bacon is Delicious’ finished 1st in the Open Human Powered Category, and was 8th overall finishing 240 laps.
Many thanks to all the students and staff who participated and helped out at the event. We now look forward to the Energy Breakthrough in just under three months.
Congratulations to the following students for your great effort and dedication to building the vehicles then training to complete 240 or more laps under trying conditions. We salute you!
