ParticipACTION Week ended in style at lunchtime with an amazing lineup of young talent on stage at the Ulumbarra Theatre.
Opening act, Rose Norton, stunned the crowd with her beautiful cover of ‘Il Dolce Suono’, while Hamish Johnson grabbed the judges’ attention with his cover of ‘Test Me’.
Lila Robins captivated the crowd with her cover of ‘Runnin’ and the audience was treated to an impressive Rubik’s cube display by Jesse Oviss.
Band Pasquito had the crowd rockin’ with ‘Only One’ and Alex Kinross had a sublime version of ‘Somebody to Love’.
Talented band Two Steps Forward did a heavenly cover of ‘Hallelujah’ – talk about goosebumps!
Emma Smeelie treated us to an awesome performance on the drums, covering ‘Kiwi’.
You could hear a pin drop as the crowd was captivated by every note that Yanfeng Ross played on the piano, with his performance of ‘One Summer’s Day’.
Regency was the second last act of the event, with their high-energy performance of ‘Whole Lotta Love’.
The crowd enjoyed an awesome Metallica cover by Druid whilst the judges deliberated.
The judges had a hard job selecting the three winners, but were unanimous in judging Regency as the BSSC’s Got Talent champions for 2023. Well done to band members Toni, Zach, Matt and Liam.
A huge thank you to our student emcee, Saad, staff judges, all of the performers and the BSSC team who made today’s spectacular event possible. Stay tuned for plenty of photos from the event.
It’s been a super fun ParticipACTION Week!
