Hundreds of prospective students and their families flocked to the Bendigo Senior Secondary College Open Day today to experience first-hand the world of choice offered by the state’s largest VCE provider. Staff from every learning area across VCE, VET and VCAL were on hand to offer advice on study programs, career pathways and the enrolment process.

Current students also shared their BSSC experiences both in person and on the big screen in Ulumbarra. The day included tours of the college, including the newly-opened Alexander Wing and Business Studies Centre.

Megan, who travelled all the way from Gisborne for the event, said it was incredible to see the range of subjects on offer.

“It’s a little overwhelming,” she said, “but the teachers have all been so helpful and I’m heading home with a much clearer idea of the subjects I’ll do in Year 11.

Jack, who hopes to study Psychology and VET Sport and Recreation as part of his study program next year, said he was really excited about the move to BSSC.

“It’s been great to look around the college and get a feel for it,” he said. “The new library looks awesome.”
