BSSC has joined Australians across our wide land acknowledging and celebrating National Reconciliation Week (NRW).

NRW is a time to come together, to learn about our shared history, to show respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, and to celebrate the ongoing journey towards reconciliation and commit to positive change, ‘Bridging Now to Next’.

For too long First Nation’s Culture has been silent and invisible in the education system but things are gradually changing and our celebration of NRW is evidence of this.

While our gathering may have been modest, it was great to be together in the Plaza, devour the delicious kangaroo bolognaise, and enjoy the magnificent voice and songs of Rhaedel Pickett (Instagram: @rhaedelsings).

Thanks Susan, Ayva and Josie for the cook-up, and those who served. There was not a skerrick left!
