Students who have impressed with their commitment, perseverance and achievements were honoured on Wednesday evening at BSSC’s 2018 Awards Night at the Ulumbarra Theatre.

Student Council President, Whitney Eadon, capped off a brilliant year by being named Student of the Year. This award is given to someone who has not only been academically successful but has also demonstrated leadership within the college and involvement in the wider community.

“I’m honoured and humbled to receive this award,” Whitney said. “I’m grateful to all the staff and Student Council representatives at BSSC for their hard work, support and encouragement.”

Student Council Vice-President, Billie Taylor, was awarded the Florence Anderson Memorial Award—given to a student who has made a highly significant contribution to the life of the college.

College Dux, Matt Coughlin, gave a heartfelt speech, expressing his gratitude for all the support and encouragement he received in 2018 from his teachers, peers and close-knit family.
