Bendigo Senior Secondary College’s award winning MIPs team is committed to achieving improved retention by directly providing or organising a range of support services that encourage students to continue their schooling, or if needed, to successfully transition to employment or further training.

What are those services?
• Looking for casual, part time or full time work? Professional and individualised employment assistance – jobsearch strategies and techniques, assistance with resumes, cover letters and applications, and interview practice and tips
• Need help to find work? Access to the BSSC online jobs board, updated each week with local job opportunities for students, local course information and community notices
• Not heading to uni? Extensive advice on apprenticeships and traineeships;
• Not sure what you want to be? Career counselling and pathway planning – for your transition to and beyond BSSC
• Not sure where school is taking you? Motivating students to remain at school and to be engaged with their studies
• Want a qualification? Organisation of onsite nationally recognised courses and certificates – eg. RSA
• Need more training? Referrals to local external training and educational providers – eg. TAFE, Continuing Education, On Track, ACE Training
• Left the college? Initial and six month telephone contact and support where needed to discuss destinations and progress since leaving the college
The MIPs team encourages all students (and parents/carers) to make contact at some stage, particularly those not moving onto tertiary study, to have your pathway planned and discussed.
