Lateness to Class
- You are not allowed to be late to class!
- If you are more than five minutes late, you will be recorded as late, if you have six late's in a subject area you will be required to attend a Catch-up class.
If you are Absent
- There may be good reasons for you to be away. You might be sick.
- If you are away, why not get your parents to ring up and let the college know straight away?
- Or you can bring a note explaining your absence when you come back to school.
- Give the note to your Student Coordinator within three days of coming back to school.
- It's always good to have a medical certificate as well.
- Don't forget you can apply for Special Provision.
Going away on Holiday?
- If you know you are going away with your family during school time, you should talk to your Student Coordinator well before you go to complete required paperwork.
- Remember, family holidays are not generally approved absences!
Unapproved Absences
- If you miss classes there are consequences!
- If you have three unexplained absences for a subject, your parents will be notified.
- If you have six unexplained absences your friendly Student Coordinator will find you. You will have a Catch-up Class for that subject, and you will be placed on a student contract.
- If you have ten unexplained absences for a subject - you have failed and will get an 'N'.
- If you have 18 absences in total you may get a 'J' as a result. This means you have not attended enough classes to pass, but each case is considered individually.
