The aims of the VCE VET Dance program are to provide participants with technical and performance skills,
knowledge and attitudes to begin the process of establishing a career in the entertainment industry. The course
is recognised as preparation for further vocational training.
Students undertaking Certificate II in Dance are eligible for four VCE VET units on their VCE Statement of
Results: two at Unit 1-2 level and a Unit 3-4 sequence. Students who complete the 3-4 sequence of VCE VET
Dance may obtain a study score which contributes towards the student's ENTER upon completion of assessment
tasks and an end of year exam.
Students wishing to undertake VET Dance need to be able to demonstrate that they have the potential to perform
a combination of technical dance activities involving known procedures. Auditions may be conducted
by the dance trainer to enable students to demonstrate their performance potential.
Upon completion of the VET VCE Dance, students will have achieved 21078VIC Certificate II in Dance. Students
will receive VCAL/VCE credit as well as a vocational qualification when they follow the prescribed program
approved by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA).

Students should note that a contribution of $200 is required from those taking this course. Payments are made via the booklist and help the College to provide specialist and sessional trainers, log books, course materials, and the first aid course.
This program must be entered onto your enrolment form including all units as shown.
The 'free choice' units can be selected from the whole range of VCE studies; however the 'highly recommended units' should be considered as they complement the program. Refer to learning area sections for details of units and unit codes |
