Music Styles
A fascinating journey through music past and present

Topics include:
Music from the Middle Ages to the present
Music in the theatre opera, stage, ballet and film
20th Century music
Some Folk and Ethnic music.
You will also Compose and arrange music.

All music studied is linked to its relevant non-musical influences such as social events, science, technology, politics and the other arts painting, sculpture, drawing, etc, of the time.

Recommended as a general interest subject, also recommended for all students wishing to continue studying music or arts at tertiary level.


Units 1,2,3 and 4
Music Performance
A course where you can share your passion for music with others in a variety of settings.
An ability to read music fluently is assumed.

Assessments and classwork in:
Solo Performance

Ensemble Playing

Creative work using Sibelius software

Research the history of your instrument

Aural Comprehension and Theory

Sight Reading and Technical Work
