International Studies examines the world of international relations and foreign affairs. Students will develop an understanding of Australia's role in world affairs and the nature of Cold War / post Cold War politics.

International Perspectives
This unit looks at different aspects of living conditions globally and how connections are created and why.

To do this subject you need to have good investigation skills, be able to analyze information and enjoy working either independently or in group situations.
    Internationalism
This unit investigates international
organisations that help shape the world and how they do it.

You will need to keep up to date with current issues and have an interest in what is happening locally and globally.

International Relations
This unit investigates conflict and how it has changed over time as well as the way nations use different types of power against each other.

You will need to analyze the cause of events and understand how events in the past can have a bearing upon activities today.

    International Relations
This unit examines how decisions are made in the national 'interest' and Australia's relations with other countries by looking at foreign policy.

You need to be a student keen on current affairs with strong investigative skills.

Assessment: Assessment in International Studies is a 2 hour written examination in November (50%), Unit 3&4 coursework (50%)
