Sound, Electric Power and Electronic Systems
This unit focuses on ideas that underpin much of the technology found in communications, commerce and industry.

Areas studied

  • Everyday motion and reference frames
  • Gravity and orbits
  • Electronics, photonics
  • Detailed study of one of relativity, structures and materials or further electronics.
    Motion, Gravity, Structures, Light & Matter
This unit covers the development of models to explain the complex interactions of light and matter.

Areas studied

  • Light and matter as waves and particles
  • The interaction of light and matter
  • Electric power generation and use
  • Detailed study of one of photonics, sound or the synchrotron and its applications.
Assessment: Assessment in Physics is a 1 1/2 hour written examination in June (33%), Unit 3&4 school assessed course work (34%) and a 1 1/2 hour written examination in November (33%).
