Bendigo Senior Secondary College in Victoria, Australia, welcomes students from different cultures and races. In recent years there are students from Argentina, Belgium, China, England, Finland, France, Brazil, Germany, Japan, South Africa, Sweden, Thailand and United States of America studying at the college.

Bendigo Senior Secondary College is an Internationally Accredited school with the Council for International Schools. The College was the first state school in Australia to be granted this award. In earning this accreditation, the college has been measured against 140 internationally accepted standards. Under this school improvement process, the college is continually moving forward in order to remain a leading school. |
Bendigo Senior Secondary College:
- is one of Victoria's oldest secondary colleges, established in 1907
- is a Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) college with Years 11 & 12 only.
The majority of students are aged between 16 and 18 years.
- has approximately 1800 students
- offers the widest range of VCE units of any school, including many Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs, apprenticeships and traineeships.
- Offers Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning at Foundation Intermediate & Senior level.
- has 40% of students participating in Accelerated Learning

- has spent $12 million on buildings and refurbishments since 1992, ensuring that all Learning Areas have first-class facilities

Enrolment process for international students:
All international fee-paying students wishing to enrol must apply to the International Student Unit of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. The application form is available on their website at: http://www.study.vic.gov.au
Students wishing to attend Bendigo Senior Secondary College should nominate Bendigo Senior Secondary College as their preferred school. When this enrolment is submitted, prospective students will receive confirmation from the International Student Unit.

Use of Information and Communication Technology to Enhance Learning
- The college has a high-speed, multimedia network
- Three hundred and seventy PCs are distributed across all classrooms, four computer labs and a Multimedia Centre
- Students have access from every classroom to the Internet, library catalogue, College Extranet, email, hard disk space, software packages, CD-ROMs and video conferencing
- Graphing calculators are used in Maths and Science
- All staff have their own notebook computer

Fees for 2008:
Full fee-paying students must pay the following fees to the Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
Please note: Tuition fees are indexed according to the Australian Consumer Price Index (CPI) and may vary from year to year.
Application fee A$200.00
Tuition fee Year 11 - 12 A$12,200 per year
Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) A$348 per year
Accommodation Placement Fee $220
Airport Reception Fee $110.00
Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority Fee
Students enrolling in any Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) units will be required to pay an enrolment fee to the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA). The VCAA will invoice students when their VCE enrolment is finalized.
The 2008 fees are:
- Units 1 and 2 only-four or more units - $162.20
- Two or more Unit 3 and 4 sequences - $334.44
Accommodation:
In 2008 the homestay fee in Bendigo is A$210 per week.

Term 1: January 29 - 20 March
Term 2: 7 April - 27 June
Term 3: 14 July - 19 September
Term 4: 6 October - December 19
* The end date for VCE students will depend upon their program and will be no later than the 22nd of November.
