VET Information Technology students gained a real-world insight into network cabling and practical communication skills this morning in a unique classroom exercise.
With guidance from teacher Jamie Le Rossignol and BSSC Systems, Network and Database Administrator, Trevor Lock, the students took part in a simulated technical support help desk.
Using a PBX phone system, students worked through a communications challenge that required them to solve real world problems and translate between technical and non-technical language.
The class was a great example of the many ways VET IT prepares students for careers in the computer industry—in this case, business related IT.
