As Year 11 BSSC student, Rachelle Collins, prepares for Year 12, she has also been preparing for her future career.
Earlier this year she arranged a week of work experience at Bendigo Equine Hospital in White Hills. Rachelle’s deep love of horses meant she was completely in her element surrounded by all things equine.
“It was amazing,” Rachelle says, “it’s just what I want to do once I’ve completed school.”
The equine hospital gave Rachelle the opportunity to observe surgeries, assist with restraining and reassuring horses during injections and check-ups, and she gained a good understanding of sterilisation processes, so essential for safe surgeries.
“All the staff have been so supportive and friendly, and I had a really great week.”
