Cycling achievement

The BIG sport news for BSSC this week is Year 12 student, Isaac Buckell, being named in the 21-member cycling ‘long squad’ to compete in China in the Junior Track World Championships in August this year. The Bendigo Advertiser described him as a ‘cycling ace’. Congratulations Isaac!

Interested in AFL umpiring?

Are you interested in being involved in football, having fun, earning money, keeping fit, and making friends? Then maybe umpiring is for you. Did you realise that if you umpire every week in an 18-game season, you could earn $680 – $1,472 as a boundary umpire, $644 – $1,184 as a goal umpire, or $1,274 – $2,804 as a field umpire, depending on the level of competition. The Bendigo Umpires’ Association is looking for field, boundary, and goal umpires for the upcoming season. They train on Tuesday and Thursday nights at Weeroona Oval between 5:30pm and 6:30pm. If you are interested, please contact Sharon McColl on 0418 569 394 or sharon.mccoll@aflcentralvic.com.au
