Students interested in studying at Deakin University heard from one of their own this morning when BSSC Alumnus and Deakin University’s Student recruitment Coordinator, Jared Hobley, returned to the college.

As someone who lived the move from Bendigo to Melbourne to pursue his university studies, Jared has a first-hand understanding of the questions and concerns on students’ minds at a time of great change.

Jared talked students through the course offered across the Burwood, Geelong Waterfront and Waurn Ponds campuses and answered questions on areas such as choosing a Major, meeting entry requirements, online courses, accommodation options, and the opportunities for overseas study.

“Always start with the question, ‘what would I do if I had the chance to study anything at all’,” Jared encouraged students. “No one in this room should ever give up on what they want to achieve… talk to BSSC Career’s staff about your pathway… there’s always a Plan B.”

Deakin University has been rated Number 1 for student satisfaction in Victoria for the past eight years and Jared spoke with great enthusiasm about the standard of its facilities, including the on-campus accommodation.

If you weren’t able to get to today’s session, but are interested in Deakin, make an appointment to chat with Naomi or Rita in Careers.
