Year 12 VET Community Services students today hosted a group of VCAL Foundation students from Kalianna School Bendigo as part of their Community Program.

BSSC students have built strong connections with Kalianna over many years, facilitating activities that promote skill-building, teamwork and physical coordination.

There was so much goodwill in the BSSC Boardroom this morning with students from both schools genuinely enjoying each other’s company and throwing themselves into each activity.

Community Services teacher, Peter Burns, said it was great to see the way students had interacted and taken on their facilitator roles.

“The smiles on the faces of the students, both the Kalianna students and our own, says it all. The fun and laughter that’s been had is really heart-warming.”

Today’s session included table tennis, pass the parcel and bingo, before culminating with a lively game of musical chairs.

Kalianna students will be back next week for a pancake breakfast in the VCAL kitchen.
