More than 100 BSSC students participated in the 2018 Australian Maths Competition (AMC).

The AMC was introduced in Australia in 1978 as the first Australia-wide mathematics competition for students. It has since spread internationally, with students in more than 30 countries attempting the same 30 problems in 60 minutes.

This year, seven BSSC students received Distinctions. Congratulations to Year 12 students Finn Le Rossignol, Lachlan McCutcheon, Tim Copeland, Patrick Barton Grace, and Jonathon Lesuey. And Year 11 students Jordan Cameron and Jack Sides.

Principal, Dale Pearce, presented the certificates at a special lunch today congratulating all students on having a go.

“By putting yourselves in the situation and taking part in a national competition, you’ve shown that you love maths and the challenge it provides.”
